How to get to the top of Mottarone?
To get to the top of Mottarone, you can reach there by car since there is no cable car available. Just hop in your car and drive towards the Mottarone summit. Enjoy the scenic drive as you make your way up the mountain, taking in the breathtaking views along the way. You can drive up to the top of Mottarone, and it’s pretty easy to find the way because there are various signs for Mottarone in Stresa.
One useful tip I want to give you is this: at some point, you’ll come across this sign. Just know that if you take the road on the right, it’s shorter but you have to pay. The road on the left is slightly longer but it’s free.
The toll road passes through a forest area owned by the Borromeo family. In the past, the price for passage was quite cheap, but it increases every year. As of August 2021, the cost for a car to use this road was 10 euros.
