For a truly free experience, opt for the less-known and wilder beaches for an authentic connection with the island’s nature. A great tip for finding a free spot is to arrive early in the morning, before the beaches get too crowded. For example, even in late July 2025, during peak season, we found ample space for free beachgoers at Super Paradise Beach, especially in the morning. This tip works for other beaches too, like Ornos, Platis Gialos, and Paraga, where arriving early often allows you to secure a free spot. Please note: there is no free beach area at Paradise Beach.
- A Word of Caution: It’s very difficult to find beach umbrellas for sale in Mykonos, so come prepared or be ready to brave the sun. The strong Meltemi wind can also make it difficult to set up your own umbrella on free beaches.

- Thalas Tavern & Beach (Super Paradise Beach): Located on Super Paradise Beach, this spot is known for its fresh fish, beautiful views, and good atmosphere. While not the cheapest option, it offers a quality dining experience with an estimated cost of around €50-60 per person, making it a good choice for a special treat.

The Daily Temptation: The Artisti PROZYMI Bakery
This was our favorite by far. It’s located a bit outside the main town, but it’s worth every single step. The Artisti PROZYMI Bakery is a true temple of taste. It is very large and offers a huge selection of products—a true godsend!
What struck us, besides the quality, was the attention to cleanliness. The outdoor area with tables, where we had breakfast, was always tidy and seemed much cleaner than other bakeries we had tried. Eating in a place where there is a minimum of attention to detail makes all the difference.
Every morning was a temptation: with just a few euros, you could get a cappuccino (even a double one if you wanted to go big!) and choose from countless sweet and savory options. The portions are very generous. The sandwiches, in particular, are massive: for 4-5 euros, you get a sandwich so big that it completely satisfies you. It’s an excellent solution for saving money and allocating a larger budget for your evening dinner.
The best part is that you can eat right there on the spot or get everything to go and enjoy your “super sandwich” on the beach.
The Convenience of Ano Mera: The Prosmi Bakery
Before we discovered Artisti PROZYMI, we frequented the Prosmi Bakery in Ano Mera. The products are good and the prices are honest, and its location makes it very convenient. Here too, we found great options, and the coffee was good. However, the attention to cleanliness in some areas was not on the same level as the other bakery. For us, it’s an important aspect, and after trying our favorite place, the others lost a bit of their charm.
